The subfamily Dolichoderinae comprises over 1000 species in 22 genera worldwide, mostly found in the tropics and subtropics.Most species of them are general predators or scavengers. Some also tend Hemiptera to collect honeydew or are associated with caterpillars.
Species of Dolichoderinae are always confused with species of the subfamily Formicinae.But Dolichoderines can be separated from Formicines by the slit-like opening tip of the gaster while formicines have one small circular opening.
Found in most parts of China. |
